This is
the jig set up to build the shaped and laminated bow
stem.
A
completed bow stem curing in the jig. Notice the
staggers in the laminate of the fir. This allows the
stem to splice into the keel over a long distance for
maximum strength.
The stem is set up just to
show the shape and stagger of the fir.
Frame
No. 1. All we lack now is finishing.
All the
frames are in place and the shape of the hull starts to
show. The frames are the mold. They are not part of the
hull.
Stringers, Chine Block, and Shear Clamp going into the
frames.
You can
see the lamination of the fir stringers and epoxy resin,
which is sanded off later.
View
from the bow with stringers in place.
Hat-sectioned ribbands have
been added to support the hull side. Also, they are
used to attach the core material to during construction.
Sub-framing of the transom.
In this
front view you can start to see a profile taking shape.
More of
the same.
The hull
has been planked with core material. You can see the
prop tunnels from the transom.
Planking
is almost complete.
Planking
is complete and some fairing has been done.
Planked hull from the bow.
The hull
has been covered with all the layers of dry fiberglass.
Now the construction of the infusion bag and plumbing
can begin.
Infusion in progress, we're
75% complete

Fairing the fiberglass is
